# Weave AI (ElasticFlow) > The alternative to rip-and-replace for COBOL/mainframe estates. Weave AI puts an AI layer over legacy systems that bridges them to modern interfaces and keeps those bridges correct on its own as the core changes: self-managing, self-healing, audited, reversible. For banks, government, airlines, and other mission-critical COBOL operators. Weave AI is an ElasticD3M, LLC Agent-as-a-Service product. It deploys into the customer's environment under the customer's authorization model, in United States regions. ## What it does 1. Spawn: for each COBOL↔modern gap, Weave spawns the specialist agents that gap requires (schema-mapping, transaction-wrapper, protocol-translation), the count scaling automatically to the work. 2. Validate: an adversarial validation agent gates every bridge for lost precision, broken transaction boundaries, and swallowed failures; uncertain bridges are blocked, not shipped. 3. Self-heal: a master agent (powered by MAEE, the meta-agent evolution engine) watches live bridges; when one loses fidelity or fails as the legacy core shifts, it contains the bad bridge before it can corrupt a system of record, rebuilds it, and cuts over, authorized and audited. 4. Bridge / Understand / Orchestrate: the underlying capabilities: CICS/IBM MQ/HTTP middleware, COBOL parsing and translation, and cross-system workflow orchestration with dependency resolution and bottleneck detection. ## Control model - Read-only by default. Pure reads/analysis change nothing. - Every non-read-only legacy call (a mainframe write) requires customer authorization and is recorded in a tamper-evident, append-only audit log with chain of custody. ## Engagement Weave is a deployed product, not a self-serve API. Start with a free legacy bridge assessment: request one at https://ai4flow.ai/#access or email hello@ai4flow.ai. Onboarding configures your authorization model before any legacy write runs. ## Notes Human-in-the-loop on every legacy-system write. All operations in United States regions.
